The vast majority of 3D pen models work with plastic, which is the main material for creating products. And if it is quite simple to buy the tool itself, then it is much more difficult to find really high – quality material.

Features of ABS plastic
This type is produced on the basis of petroleum products. It has a high impact resistance and bends quite easily. ABS plastic for 3D pens is more popular, and this is primarily due to its main advantages:

* Resistance to heat and chemicals;
• High impact resistance indicators;
• Durability;
* Suitable for creating flexible elements when drawing.
* The melting point of plastic is 200-230 degrees.
The disadvantages of ABS plastic are not significant. It is not able to tolerate prolonged exposure to ultraviolet light and has a low stickiness (but it is enough for drawing on paper).
Features of PLA-plastic
PLA-a biodegradable plastic for a 3D pen is made from a plant base, which is the main significant difference from another type. PLA is a safe material and is great for home use.
Among the main advantages it is necessary to note:

• Does not undergo deformation;
* Has a higher density;
* Can be used on glass or metal surfaces;
* Able to draw sharp corners.
* The melting point of plastic is 170-210 degrees.
The main disadvantage of this type of plastic is directly related to its advantage – the plant origin of PLA reduces its service life (up to about 2 years under ideal conditions).

Which plastic should I choose?
