X-Line Special materials
The evolution of 3D printing technologies has led to extensive research in the field of printed materials, allowing the production of special materials to be established.
Our company has launched not only the production of special materials, but is also actively engaged in testing both finished products and printed models made of complex plastics.
Composites are extremely useful in the manufacture of light, but durable products. The fibers give strength to the part without adding weight, which makes it possible to withstand heavy loads and high temperatures. These properties make special materials very attractive in the aerospace, automotive and medical sectors.
In the production of engineering plastics, there are two types of reinforcement: short fiber and continuous fiber.
- In the first case, crushed fibers consisting of segments less than a millimeter long are mixed with traditional 3D-printed plastics. The crushed fibers can be mixed with thermoplastics such as nylon, ABS, PET-G, PLA.
- In the second case, the fibers can be added to the thermoplastic in the form of a continuous fiber. In this way, you can get a more durable filament.
3D printing with such materials should be carried out on special 3D printers. They must be equipped with a closed chamber, a heated table and the heating temperature of the extruder must be at least 230°C.
We highly recommend that you print with a steel nozzle, in other other cases, rapid wear or clogging of the nozzle is possible.
